The Nagging Despair of A Detainee (abridged translation)

He is sunken in a world of disappointment. He doesn’t know how long he would stay inside for this unending journey. He is not a well-educated person. Neither he is a smart person. He doesn’t know how to adapt to this detention life. Though being locked behind, he, like any human being, has wishes, interests, dependants, family and expectation. He doesn’t want to be a poor bird in the cage, or like an animal in a refugee zoo without doing anything. He is not good at expressing his feeling in writing. When he is thinking about freedom, rights to work and rights to pursue his spiritual belief, it is his best time in detention. However for the most of his time in detention, he felt very depressed. He has ongoing sleep difficulties and some of persistent headaches. He doesn’t know how to describe this devastating effect. He is losing faith and breaking down. His world is falling apart. He feels that he has no destiny or certain future with indefinite sentence. He is suffering from psychological problems, trauma, anxiety, and lack of concentration. He needs someone to help. He really needs help. He is missing his wife and two children very much. He is worrying about their education and their well-being even though he himself has no freedom for the moment. He wishes that he could fulfil his duty as a father by offering them financial help through his hard work, no matter how hard it is. He cannot meet his loved ones empty handed with a broken heart. So he is always lamenting his life wasted in detention. He is haunted by the sense of despair and defeat. If one of the detainees is attempting to commit self-harm in detention centre or he has seen or heard forcible removal in the centre, it is difficult for him to describe the bleakness of his nagging despair.
