太极拳运动的特点是柔和缓慢,开合有序,虚实分明,钢柔并济,联绵不断,似行云流水,并力求做到"心静",注意力集中,讲究"用意",使动作协调完整一气。太极拳运动不分老少,无论是对健康人或体弱多病者,都很适宜。
Tai Chi
practice is characterized by its slow and gentle
motion, orderly sequence of body stretching and
contracting, fine balance between flexible and precise
posture, graceful but definite movement in a measured
but flowing continuation like drifting cloud in the
sky and the running water in the river. Tai Chi
practice places emphasis on "peace of mind",
concentration and "spiritual control" so the
exercise is completed in a smooth and coordinated
manner. Tai Chi practice is suitable to all people,
old or young, fit or weak.
